Músico pioneiro, artista de vanguarda, explorador espiritual e revolucionário do género, Genesis apareceu em filmes e vídeos, mas nunca a sua história completa e de forma tão íntima com agora. Neste documentário autorizado, cru e pessoal, o premiado realizador David Charles Rodrigues (“GAY CHORUS DEEP SOUTH“) documenta o último ano da existência de P-Orridge, enquanto lida com a mortalidade e, no processo, revela os muitos sacrifícios e recompensas finais de uma vida que transcendeu barreiras. SOBRE GENESIS P-ORRIDGE:
A vida e carreira de GENESIS P-ORRIDGE foram marcadas por uma série de projectos provocadores e controversos que desafiaram os limites da arte e da identidade. P-Orridge ganhou notoriedade como membro fundador do grupo de música experimental THOBBING GRISTLE em meados da década de 1970. Os Throbbing Gristle estiveram na vanguarda do movimento de música industrial, utilizando técnicas inovadoras, sons electrónicos e temáticas provocativas. As performances de confronto da banda e os temas controversos desafiaram as normas sociais e influenciaram uma geração de artistas. DAVID CHARLES RODRIGUES é um cineasta brasileiro premiado, bolseiro da Sundance e residente em Los Angeles. Começou como novelista gráfico no Brasil e agora dedica-se a filmes que utilizam o poder do entretenimento e da arte para transmitir mensagens vitais e transformadoras a audiências de todo o mundo. O seu documentário de longa-metragem, GAY CHORUS DEEP SOUTH, produzido por Sheila Nevins e distribuído pela MTV Documentary Films, ganhou o Prémio do Público de Melhor Documentário em Tribeca 2019 e foi selecionado pelo Rotten Tomatoes como um dos 20 Melhores Filmes LGBTQ de todos os tempos. These were just a few of the bands and collectives that Genesis Breyer P-Orridge led or was associated with. Genesis P-Orridge lived their art to the extreme. A pioneering musician, avantgarde artist, spiritual explorer and gender revolutionary, Genesis has been featured in films and videos, but never the full story… never this intimate… until now. In this authorized but raw and personal documentary, award-winning director David Charles Rodrigues (GAY CHORUS DEEP SOUTH) documents the final year of P Orridge’s existence as they grapple with mortality and, in the process, reveal the many sacrifices and ultimate payoffs of a life that transcended boundaries. Featuring William Burroughs, Brion Gyson, Timothy Leary, Alice Genese (Psychic TV), David J (Bauhaus/Love and Rockets), Nepalese monks, African witch doctors, and a special cameo by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, plus never-before-seen archival treasures, including performances from Throbbing Gristle and Psychic TV.

David is an award-winning Brazilian filmmaker and Sundance Fellow based in Los
Angeles. David started as a graphic novel writer in Brazil and now focuses on films that leverage the power of entertainment and art to deliver vitally human, life changing messages to audiences around the world. David’s feature doc GAY CHORUS DEEP SOUTH, executive produced by Sheila Nevins and distributed by MTV Documentary Films, won the Tribeca 2019 Audience Award for Best Documentary and was selected by Rotten Tomatoes as one of the Top 20 LGBTQ Films of all time.
